Our Mission

Hope for the Children of Haiti is called by God to give Haitian children, particularly orphans, the opportunity to become well rounded adults who are self sufficient in Christ.

Our Vision

  • Our  children will become adults who in turn will influence their compatriots and their country in the name of Christ.

  • Our ministry will provide all that our children need to become able to live productively as adults.

  • Our school will be a blessing to our children as well as to the children who pay to attend it.

  • Some of our children will fulfill their dreams by working for Hope for the Children of Haiti.

  • The lives of volunteers will be changed by serving the Lord in and for Haiti.

Statement of Faith

Our Ministry Principles

Our children are our first priority.

We rely on prayer in everything we do, that the glory may be to God.

Haitians run our ministry in Haiti and serve as role models to our children.

We provide for the physical, psychological and spiritual needs of our children.

We reach more children by opening our school to paying students.

We grow as our children grow and add new services and facilities as their age and number increases.

We can do those things because the Lord provides for our ministry; we step in faith when called to do so.

We want to make our ministry as self-sufficient as possible thanks to the paying students in our school.

As we become more self-sufficient, the support from our donors allows us to expand beyond what we are already doing.

Overview

Hope for the Children of Haiti, inc. (HFC) is an organization dedicated to meeting the extreme needs faced by neglected and abandoned children in the Caribbean island of Haiti.

Since its founding in 1989, the organization's efforts have been directed toward operating a small, but rapidly expanding Christian orphanage and school for children. HFC works with the Haitian community to provide the proper care, guidance, education and skills for the maximum number of children, it is HFC¨s hope that these children will one day play an integral role in improving the Conditions of this poverty-stricken country plagued by malnutrition illiteracy unemployment and environmental problems. The people of Haiti have an enormous amount of endurance, hope and dignity, as well as deep spiritual faith, but they need help in this fight against poverty.

The majority of Haiti¨s 7.5 million people 75 percent of them, in fact live below the poverty line established by the World Bank. One million Haitians live in the city of Port-au-Prince alone.

According to UNICEF statistics, only 50 percent of the population has reasonable access to health services; 38 percent have access to safe water; and 21 percent have access to proper sanitation

Not surprisingly, it is the children who suffer most. Roughly 37 percent of children under the age of five are reported to be moderately or severely underweight. One child in five dies before his or her first birthday.

"Oh God, make the door of this house wide enough to receive all who need human love and fellowship, narrow enough to shut out all envy, pride and strife. Make its threshold wide enough not to be a stumbling block to children nor to straying feet, but rugged and strong enough to turn back the tempter's power. God, make this house the door to thine eternal kingdom."
