We asked several children a series of questions.  Praise and Thank the Lord as you read their answers and see what the Lord is doing in their lives!  We hope you will be as touched by their heartfelt unedited responses as we were.

 
                     

Question 1: What do you want to be when you grow up? EVENS - “I want to be a medical doctor. I want to help the sick, hoping God will help me to restore health. I want to clean up the streets and see human rights respected. There too many killing. I want to invest my life in street kids lives.” EPHESIEN  - “I wants to be an engineer in computer science.” JUNIOR - “I want to be President of Haiti so that I can restore the country and build the roads, feed the needy, stop the suffering of the nation and make Haiti a beautiful country. And an engineer in computer science.” ESPERANCE  - “I want to be a medical doctor to build a hospital to care of the sick so that they will not die. I will help other children the same way HFC helps me.” DUEKHEIN  - “I want to be an agronome to help food production to help appease the suffering of hungry people, and stop starvation in Haiti.” STEPHANIE  - “I want to be a medical doctor, to help the sick. I want to be a singer.” JEANINE  - “I want to be a medical doctor to help sick people.” ARGENTINE  - “I want to be a medical doctor, I want to work helping people who have sick.” KATTIA  - “I like to be a star and excellent singer. I like to be a dancer. I also like the computer science.” YOUDEMIE  - “I like to be a medical doctor to take care of the sick.” FABIOLA  - “I like to be a fashion designer.”

Question 2: What is your biggest challenge or struggle in life? EVENS - “Making better grades in school so that I can reach my future goals.” EPHESIEN  - “I want to be on top of my class because I would to experience that feeling.” JUNIOR  - “My biggest challenge is that I cannot wait to help change Haiti. If I could start today I would.” ESPERANCE  - “I want to skip grades in school because I am getting too old for my class. I want to influence girls positively so that they can live as sisters to the boys.” DUEKHEIN  - “I would like one day to go to another country to seek help for the needy and suffering Haitians. I want to be president of Haiti to stop all the troubles, and peace, and justice in court system, to select competent and honest judges, to set free all innocent prisoners.” STEPHANIE  - “I would like to help the needy people, but right now I cannot. There are so much poverty.” JEANINE  - “My challenge is to build an orphanage to help the orphaned children.” ARGENTINE  - “I am interested in the children who are not in school, but I am not ready for that. It is a challenge for me.” KATTIA  - “I would like to help many kids just as HFC is helping me.” YOUDEMIE  - “I would like to go to the United States to study medicine, and then come back to Haiti to help the sick.” FABIOLA  - “My challenge is to help the street kids. I want to do that because the majority of children are not in school.”

Question 3: What do you like best about living at HFC? EVENS  - “The work and commitment of the adults toward helping us as children because they work with their whole hearts. Frage treats us and do for us what she would do for her own children.” EPHESIEN  - “I like the school best because it is preparing for the future. I enjoy living with the others as my brothers and sisters.” JUNIOR  - “I like the way the older kids live together in a room and the younger are together. I like very much when they take us out into the city for visit. The immediate care that is provided for us when we are sick by Micaelle is very important to us.” ESPERANCE  - “Field trips! The staff encourages us to study hard so that we can succeed. I appreciate knowing that my daily needs are guaranteed, and I have a big chance to succeed in life. I love my friend here.” DUEKHEIN  - “I like when the adults talk to us and we listen. When they pray with us, singing, the monthly business meeting where we can express our feelings and tell what is going on rather it is right or wrong.” STEPHANIE  - “I like the staff because they represent my parents and I like the boys and the girls because they represent my brother and sisters. I like also the teachers.” JEANINE  - “I like the school, and the way the staff take care of the children.” ARGENTINE  - “I am very grateful for the teachers who teach us and the staff for taking good care of us.” KATTIA  - “I am very thankful for my sponsors in the States.” YOUDEMIE  - “I like everything. The way the staff take care of us, the way they cook the foods. And I like the way the teachers teach us.” FABIOLA - “I like the school because teach us thing that we help us for the future.”

Question 4: Share something about your personal relationship with Jesus—for example, how does he encourage you? EVENS  - “Jesus saves me and encourages me thought the staff who urge me to study hard.” EPHESIEN  - “Jesus encourages me when I failed in my grades and I prayed and he helped me make better grades. Sometime I ask the other kids to pray for me for a personal request and Jesus always answers my prayers.” JUNIOR  - “Jesus changes my life. I used to be a trouble maker and he changes my life. One time I was sick and could not prepare for an exam. As I was taking the exam, I bowed my heard to pray and ask Jesus to help me. Amazingly, Jesus helped me make a better grade than I expected.” ESPERANCE  - “I love Jesus very much for lying on the cross to humankind. I just took the pre-official exam and thought I do not have the result yet, I trust the Lord for success because I did pray and ask him to help me. I feel very good about the upcoming result.” DUEKHEIN  - “I have accepted Jesus as my personal Savior. Jesus is our master, who died on the cross to save us for those who trust may have eternal life. Jesus answers my prayers. One example: At one point I felt as I was totally forsaken by relative. I asked the other kids to help me pray about that issue. Suddenly, one day my Godmother and my Grandma came to visit me. This was a big answer to my prayers.” STEPHANIE - “Sometime I always pray Jesus and I always occupied the third place.” JEANINE  - “I believe Jesus answers prayers, for example when Dr. Marion Austin was sick, was having a surgery, I prayed for her and the Lord healed her.” ARGENTINE  - “Jesus encourages me to go to church. By the grace of Christ my physical need are being met, I am in much better shape then before I came to the orphanage.” YOUDEMIE  - “I was a poor kid before I came to HFC. I am grateful to the Lord for His blessings. This is a real encouragement for me.” FABIOLA  - “One time I pray Jesus to send my sponsor to come to Haiti to see me, her name is Megan. Her visit to Haiti is an answer to my prayers!”

Question 5: What is your impression of Heaven? What do you think or dream that Heaven will be like? EVENS  - “Something like a place eyes have never seen. No more sickness and everybody will be happy.” EPHESIEN  - “That is where Jesus lives. It is like a house where people live and save God. It is a beautiful place.” JUNIOR  - “No place is as beautiful as heaven, it is made of gold. I want to be there in the last days as I trust the Lord Jesus.” ESPERANCE  - “Lots of buildings and streets in gold, angels are flying. Sometime in my prayers it is like I have seen Jesus as a giant in big chair and see myself kneeling before him, as he listens my prayers.” DUEKHEIN  - “A beautiful place created by God where sickness, and death will be no more. It is the place where saved will give glory to God.” STEPHANIE  - “I believe heaven is a golden house where God and the angels live.” JEANINE  - “God lives in heaven. I am going to heaven when I died.” ARGENTINE  - “I know when I died I go to heaven to live with Jesus. God lives there and the angels are always singing. Heaven is a golden place.” KATTIA  - “God lives in heaven.” YOUDEMIE  - “God lives in heaven with His children in a golden houses and streets. That is the place where all the saved will spend eternity.” FABIOLA  - “God lives in heaven and heaven is the place where who loves Jesus will spend eternity!”

Question 6: What is something interesting that you want US Sponsors to know about Haiti? Or what is the best thing you like about Haiti? EVENS  - “My goal is to make good grades in school, so that I will help change poverty in Haiti. Why? Because commands us to share with the needy. Helping others is what best in Haiti.” EPHESIEN  - “I want sponsors to know that Haiti is an undeveloped country in which are armed conflicts between groups. Haiti need money to be developed. Champs de Mars and Bicentenaire are the best recreation places I know of Haiti.” JUNIOR  - “Haiti is a good country, but people are not united to make things work for the best. There some nice roads in Haiti, and champs de Mars is beautiful.” ESPERANCE  - “I want them to know Haiti has some good and honest people. No everybody is evil. I like Champs de Mars and place of Italy, they are my favorite. Haiti is a good country, all we need to do is to unite our efforts to make it beautiful.” DUEKHEIN  - “There are people  suffering and many of them have died by bandits. We need calmness and a good president to lead the country into better days, a president who would not misused the money of the people to do his own things. I like the public places.” STEPHANIE  - “The stoical (historical) sites and the public places.” JEANINE  - “I like very much Champs de Mars, the public places, and the heroic (statue).” ARGENTINE  - “I like to see people getting a job so that they can build their future. I like the stoical (historical) places.” KATTIA  - “The Haitian paintings.” YOUDEMIE  - “I like very much the museum, Champs de Mars and Italy’s place.” FABIOLA  - “I like to go to the mountain in Kenscoff to the small zoo at the Baptist Mission. I also like Champs de Mars.”
